High tensile strength chain for use on general marine construction projects such as fender systems, docks & wharfs, fish farming pens, topper buoys and other mooring applications

The long link design permits the hookup of shackles anywhere on the chain, not just the end links as with most chain. The hot dip galvanizing process applies a thick layer of zinc which provides long life and exceptional corrosion resistance. Galvanized to ASTM A153/A153M specifications.

*A NOTE ABOUT THE DIFFERENCE IN WORKING LOAD LIMIT (WLL) BETWEEN IMPORTED MOORING CHAIN AND US MADE MOORING CHAIN: Imported mooring chain uses the typical safety factor for high test chain of 3 to 1. However, US manufacturers, even though theirs is a "high test" grade steel, have opted to use a more typical 4 to 1 safety factor. In reality, both chains are equal strength. For instance a US made 1/2" chain has a breaking strength of 27,600 lbs using a 4:1 safety factor (6900 x 4). An imported 1/2" chain also has a breaking strength of 27,600 lbs using a 3:1 safety factor (9200 x 3).
